A Psalm of life:

First of all we need to know what justice is, justice is  a moral principle that inclines to act and judge respecting the truth and giving each one what is his due and fairness is the quality of making judgments that are free from discrimination.

Forma me this story was a complex poem to understand but I think that the message of this poem is an invocation to humankind to follow the path of righteousness, the right way to live this life. The poem is didactic in tone. But do I see the value of fairness or justice in here? It is present but in a slightly way because therefore the author Henry Wadsworth Longfellow doesn't want to know life is unfair and treats each one of us differently because we are not in charge of it. This poem slightly implies that despite the life is unfair whit all of us, we must fight to keep living it to its maximum expression, following all of our dreams and fighting to be able to achieve all our goals in our life. In this poem, we can see that these two values of fairness and justice are not show explicit but we can deduce this after analyzing the poem.

Now this poem have three verses in which each one it show death with a different definitions, in the first stanza speaks about death as an approaching guest. In the second stanza, we find that the traveler is finally accepting his fate. He is unable to resist the call of death. In the third stanza we find that, the traveler accept the death and find out that this is a new step on a life cycle. The title of the poem clearly directs the reader towards the theme of the poem. The rise and fall of the tide is an indication towards the ups and downs of life and here is where we find the relationship of the two values and is that in the life of people the justice and the fairness is rarely present that’s why there are moment in which we are in a good condition and other in bad condition.
